Lauren Graham On 'Parenthood,' Jason Ritter's Emmy Nomination

Why Jason Ritter's Emmy Nomination Is Olympic-Worthy

Lauren Graham may not have nabbed an Emmy nomination for her role on NBC's "Parenthood," but she's sure rooting for her on-screen boyfriend, played by Jason Ritter.

"He's the most wonderful guy and such a wonderful actor," Graham said of Ritter, who plays Mark Cyr on the series, on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." "We feel proud, as if we're a small Olympic country who got one guy who got a medal. We got our one athlete in."

Though he's now an Emmy-nominated actor, Ritter's been working nonstop in recent years. In addition to starring in NBC's "The Event," he also appeared in the 2011 comedy "Bag Of Hammers."

"I’d rather be a little too busy than not at all. It’s been a good run these last couple of years," Ritter told HuffPost. "It feels like you’re pushing a rock up a hill and eventually you get to the top and it starts to roll down a little bit. The key is sticking through and being patient and you know there could be another hill right around the corner."

Season 4 of "Parenthood" premieres on Tues., Sept. 11 at 10 p.m. ET
