'Late Show': Howard Stern's Mother Knows Who Should Replace Sharon Osbourne On 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

Howard Stern's Mom Knows Who Should Replace Sharon

Howard Stern's mother isn't wasting any time. The current season of "America's Got Talent" isn't scheduled to end until next week, but Mama Stern is already planning Sharon Osbourne's replacement. Osbourne decided to leave the show, and end her association with NBC, earlier this summer. According to Stern on "Late Show," his mother thinks the show should hire Queen Latifah.

Stern, doing an impression of his mother, laid out the conversation for Letterman's audience. "She’s funny, she does movies. And she is terrific on camera. She says many great things," she said.

He explained to her that he has no power over those kinds of decisions, but that if anyone asks, he'd be certain to pass her suggestion along.

There is one potential conflict of interest, though, as Latifah is an executive producer on The CW's singing competition show, "The Next." Besides, according to HollywoodLife, Kris Jenner is the current front-runner.

A year is a long time, though. If "The Next" doesn't come back, maybe Stern's mother can get a meeting with the folks at NBC to lay out her plan.

Tune in to the season finale of "America's Got Talent," Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET and Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. "Late Show with David Letterman" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
