It's no secret that April Ludgate is one of the many oddball characters on "Parks And Recreation," and Aubrey Plaza (who plays April) says that's exactly the way she likes it.

"I want people to be confused by my character," Plaza said of her deadpan character in the "Parks And Rec" Google hangout. "And also have a feeling of not knowing if you want to strangle me to death or kiss me really hard."

This isn't the first time Plaza has spoken out on April's strange nature.

"It would bother me if [playing April] prevented me from getting other parts because people are afraid that I won’t be able to do it," Plaza told HuffPost. "I’m just making steps in the direction of showing people that I can do more and that I’m not April Ludgate.

But I do want to say that I don’t mind it because I love playing that character and I love being on that show. If that’s the only thing I have to deal with because of it, I will take it."

"Parks And Recreation" returns to NBC on Thurs., Sept. 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
