'Army Wives' Finale Ends On Huge Cliffhanger

It was a finale for "Army Wives," but was it a season finale or a series finale? While the show hasn't officially been picked up, neither has it been officially cancelled. Nevertheless, the creators behind the show decided to leave things on a terrifying cliffhanger that may or may not ever be resolved.

While Roxy and her family were headed for Fort Lewis, the soldiers of Fort Marshall were on a plane and headed for Afghanistan. Bad weather struck during the flight, and General Holden received a phone call.

"What?” he said on the phone, followed by, "Oh my God. Oh my God." And that's all viewers got.

While TVLine listed this as just a season finale, sister site Deadline reported a year ago that the deals with the actresses ended with this season, with some of them having already signed on to other projects. And, as TV Series Finale points out, Lifetime has started promoting these latest episodes as leading up to the end.

If it is over, TV Fanatic finds the cliffhanger ending somewhat appropriate. "The lives of soldiers and their families will always be filled with strife, and no matter where they decide to end the series, that will continue."

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
