Troy Meza, Sex Offender, Arrested After Wedding Catering Catastrophe In Oregon

Sex Offender Arrested After Ruining Wedding Dinner

A registered sex offender in Oregon was arrested shortly after his catering company ruined a wedding dinner.

Lindsey Petrushkin got married last week in Portland, and everything was perfect -- except for the food, according to KATU. Tony Meza, who runs Unique Catering and Pacific Northwest Events, was supposed to serve 200 guests a beautiful, handcrafted dinner.

But the catering business purchased food in bulk from a grocery store, then burned the meal to the point of being inedible.

"They burned the side of my parents' building," Petrushkin told the station.

The bride ended up ordering pizza. After the wedding, Petrushkin said she was horrified to learn that Meza was a predatory sex offender convicted of sexually abusing teen girls, ages 13 to 16. Some of her wedding guests were in that age range.

Meza met one victim through an Internet chat room and one through a mutual friend, according to the State of Oregon Sex Offender Inquiry System.

"It's icing on top of the cake," Petrushkin said. "Everything was already wrong with it and it's just disgusting."

Meza was arrested on Monday after KATU found that he wasn't living at his registered address in Aumsville. He was charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
