Trader Joe's First Miami Store To Open In Pinecrest In 2013

It's Official!

Well, it's about chucking time!

Specialty grocer Trader Joe's has FINALLY chosen a site for its first Miami-area store: a former Borders Bookstore building in Pinecrest, across the street from the Dadeland South Metrorail Station.

The store will take up about 13,500 square feet at 9205 S. Dixie Highway. "It's a great location and a wonderful neigborhood that seemd like a great fit for us," Trader Joe's spokeswoman Alison Mochizuki told the Miami Herald.

Unfortunately for lovers of cheap wine, fresh-baked bread, frozen entrees, and a slew of organic and artisan foodstuffs, our first TJ isn't slated to open until 2013. But here's hoping the top brass spotted a few other great locations in Miami while they were here: until that Pinecrest spot opens, the closest Trader Joe's remains the store in Naples.
