9/21/12 Pollster Open Thread

This open thread is to discuss all of the day's polls -- what they tell us about the election, their methodological strengths and weaknesses, notable findings others have missed or whatever else you want to talk about. Each day's open thread will appear in the morning and remain open for 24 hours. We also encourage you to use the "favorite" button to identify the most interesting or insightful comments. We'll review the recommended comments every day and try to highlight the best in the next day's entry.

Thursday featured comment
“Nevada's economy is worse off than almost anywhere else in the country. But that being said pollsters badly underestimated Democratic strength in both Nevada and Colorado in 2008 and 2010. Democrats seem to outperfrom the polls in both states in much the same way Republicans tend to outperform the polls in Arizona. New Jersey (for Dems) and Florida (for GOP) also seem to exhibit the same type of behavior.” - dopper
