ABC Carpet & Home Will Now Sell Designer Clothing Line In NYC Store

This Shop Sells $15k Rugs...And Clothes?

Yep, it seems the home furnishing company will now be adding an entire floor dedicated to clothing in its flagship store in New York's Flatiron neighborhood. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the eco-friendly apparel line will consist of both men's and women's lines, along with children’s gear.

Currently the website already offers dresses, shirts and other threads for women from designer Gary Graham. It also has baby and children’s attire and accessories such as jewelry, scarves and belts. It’s unclear when this will happen but the addition will launch ABC Carpet & Home as full-fledged apparel retailer.

And though we’re very excited about the possibility of picking up some great home accessories along with a fabulous coat, it’s hard to know for sure if the accession will go smoothly. The concept of selling fashion and housewares under one roof is not something new as stores like Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters have positioned themselves as a go-to location for both. But unlike those retailers, ABC Carpet & Home offers very high-end furnishings at price points that only allow most of us to daydream about owning. So, it will be interesting to see how they incorporate clothing into their luxury brand.

And it won’t be the only new line for the company. In October it will be offering a collection of flooring and custom wood furniture with The Trump Organization and Archetypal Imagery.

The divide between fashion and decor are blurring now more than ever. Back in August it was announced that H&M would be launching a home decor line next year.
