'2 Broke Girls' Premiere: Steven Weber Plays Caroline's Charming, Incarcerated Father (VIDEO)

'2 Broke Girls' Premiere: Steven Weber Charms As Caroline's Dad

CBS is putting a lot of faith in "2 Broke Girls." The breakout hit of last season struggled with critics, but remained solid in the ratings. That's not too different from the show whose time slot it's inheriting, as "Two and a Half Men" heads for the world of Thursday nights (after "The Big Bang Theory"). Can the show find itself in this second season, or does it even need to?

The premiere brought the arrival of Caroline's father as a tangible character, played by Steven Weber. He admitted to his daughter that he is ashamed of his past deeds, as well as how he ultimately let her down. And while she was disappointed in him, Caroline wasn't going to write him off. As she told Max, he's her father.

The show also promises a love interest for Caroline later this season, as mentioned by CarterMatt, as well as further progress on taking their cupcake business to the next level.

Follow along on their journey with "2 Broke Girls," Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
