Kellie Pickler Rocks A Shaved Head To Support A Friend With Cancer, And She's Not The First To Inspire Us To Go Buzzed (PHOTOS)

Kellie Pickler's bouncy blonde hair has been part of her signature aesthetic since her "American Idol" days, but she recently shaved it all off for a good reason.

When her friend Summer Miller (who is battling breast cancer) learned that she was about to start chemotherapy, Pickler buzzed off her locks in solidarity. And you know what? In addition to thinking that she is an awesome friend, we actually love the look on her! Pickler's new cropped cut enhances her features: those big eyes and delicate cheekbones really pop.

While Pickler's motivation was to stand by her friend, who she wrote on Facebook is "like her sister," other stars have gone for near-bald hairstyles for other reasons. Take Charlize Theron, for example, who shaved off her hair for a role in "Mad Max" (she's been spotted all over Los Angeles donning hats) or Cynthia Nixon, who buzzed her hair for her part in the Broadway play "Wit." And of course, who could forget Britney Spears' notorious head-shaving incident?
