Republicans Believe Press Coverage Of Obama Is 'Too Easy': Pew Study

Republicans Criticize Press Coverage Of Obama

A majority of Republicans believe that the press has been too easy on President Obama, according to a new study from the Pew Research Center.

The organization recently asked approximately 1,000 Americans to assess the media's treatment of Obama and Mitt Romney. Its survey found that 46% of Americans believe that press coverage of Romney has been "fair," while 46% believe that press coverage of Obama has also been fair.

The results along political lines, however, were a bit more telling. 60% of Republicans said that the media has been "too easy" in its coverage of Obama. On the flip side, a plurality of Republicans (45%) think the press has been "too tough" on Romney.

In contrast, a majority of Democrats (57%) believe that media coverage of Romney has been fair, with just 26% saying that the press has been too tough on him. A majority (62%) also believe that media coverage has been fair to Obama.
