'Gangnam Style' Flash Mob Surprises Washington Square Park In NYC (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Gangnam Style' Flash Mob Takes Over Washington Square Park

As South Korea's "Gangnam Style" continues to barrel through pop culture with television appearances and a long list of invisible horse-dancing parodies, a massive group of dancers gathered in Washington Square Park on Sunday to join the sensation.

The event was organized by a fan named Tae Young Woo and attracted the attention of Korean broadcasting system, KBS.

I LOVE DANCE, a dance group specializing in Korean hip-hop, even hosted a workshop to prep for the big day, charging $30 for a two-hour session to dance like Oppa Psy.

Despite the countless parodies, the "Gangnam" phenomenon is showing no signs of slowing down. On Wednesday, "Gangnam Style" took the number one spot in digital song sales.

The video's bizarre horse-dancing has also inspired aerobic workouts.

Correction: A previous version of this article listed I LOVE DANCE as the primary organizer of this event.
