Massive Warehouse Fire Takes Crews 12 Hours To Extinguish

Crews on Sunday worked for some 12 hours to extinguish a massive blaze at a warehouse in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood -- and firefighters returned to the scene early Monday.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, crews returned to the four-story industrial building in the 2600 block of West Nelson Street Monday morning to pour more water on a blaze that more than 200 firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene after it broke out around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

No injuries were reported in the fire, but many businesses renting space inside the structure will be taking a big hit from the blaze, NBC Chicago reports.

An investigation into the cause of the 5-11 alarm fire is underway, according to the Chicago Tribune.
