Bird Delays Yankees-Red Sox Game (VIDEO)

Bird Invades Yankees-Red Sox Game

In between Raul Ibanez's game-tying and game-winning hits in Tuesday night's Yankees-Red Sox extra-inning thriller in the Bronx, the game was briefly delayed because a bird was wandering around the infield.

In the top of the 12th inning with Dustn Pedroia on first base, the umpires stopped the game so a member of the Yankees' grounds crew could "escort" the bird off the field with a big white bucket. The only problem is the bird wasn't going into the bucket without a fight, or ever.

"It's probably an Orioles spy," Michael Kay of the YES Network joked, before mistakenly thinking that the man stepped on the bird.

The Yankees' staffer couldn't quite catch the bird, but did manage to coax it into foul territory and play resumed.

Shortly after the delay, Ibanez came through in the bottom of the 12th to lift the Yankees to their 94th win.
