'Private Practice' 100th Episode: Addison Gets The News That Mark Sloan Passed Away On 'Grey's Anatomy' (VIDEO)

'Private Practice': Addison Gets News That Mark Died On 'Grey's'

While it wasn't a full-on crossover between the two series that share a universe, "Private Practice" did acknowledge the passing of Mark Sloan over on "Grey's Anatomy." It was during the 100th episode of "Practice," which also served as the unusual party Pete requested to celebrate his life, rather than mourn his death.

It was an emotional day already for everyone in attendance, despite Pete wanting everyone to be happy and keep it light. But when Addison got the phone call that they'd pulled Mark off of life support -- as seen in last week's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" -- she broke down.

At the end of the episode, Violet was finally able to let go emotionally, knowing that Cooper was there to support his friend. He'd already agreed to take on her child if anything happened to her, as he has always been there for her. Even his son helped her with the grieving process by talking about his own experiences losing his grandmother. It must run in the family.

"Private Practice" moves beyond 100 episodes, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
