Marie Osmond Style Evolution: From Donny's Sequined Sister To All Grown Up In Sleek Suits (PHOTOS)

Ruffles and sparkles, anyone?

As the only daughter born into a family of nine children in Utah, Marie Osmond was destined for fame. Her brothers were renowned as the music group "The Osmonds" in the '60s, but it wasn't until the early '70s, when urged by the family's management team, that Osmond was bitten by the show biz bug.

Joining big brother Donny Osmond, Marie became half of the entertainment duo "Donny and Marie" hosting their eponymous variety show from 1976 to 1979. She enjoyed a successful career as a country music star, best-known for her ballad "Paper Roses." Her fashion was as country as her lyrics: The singer and actress had a penchant for ruffles and sparkles on stage, and mannish blazers (complete with shoulder pads -- this was the '80s) topped off with a trendy feathered 'do.

Osmond went on to marry three times (twice to the same man, à la Liz Taylor) and had eight children. As her career progressed, her style evolved from flashy costumes to more subdued pantsuits. During the '90s, Osmond went on to do TV movies, act on Broadway and even host a short-lived radio show.

In recent years, Osmond has been back in the spotlight, thanks to her 2007 stint on "Dancing With The Stars" (we wonder if those sequined costumes felt like being home again). And she and Donny are currently headlining "The Donny And Marie Show" in Las Vegas.

As Marie celebrates her 53rd birthday on Saturday (October 13th), we're taking a look back at her style over the years. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below.
