'Hoarders': Suicide Attempt During Filming After Child Protective Services Removes Children From Grandparents' Home (VIDEO)

Things took a very dangerous turn on the latest episode of "Hoarders." Dr. Robin Zasio, one of the show's psychologists, and a clean-up crew were on-hand to help Manuel with the horrific hoard that had already cost him and his wife their grandchildren. The home was filled with fecal matter and roaches amidst the general filth.

The problem was that Manuel and his wife Liz were the regular babysitters for their grandchildren. So when CPS (Child Protective Services) saw the state of the home, they took the children away from both their grandparents and their parents. Child endangerment charges were pending against all of them by the end of the show.

But it was during the clean-up that Dr. Zasio discovered that it had all gotten to be too much for Liz. "I’ve been wanting to die for years because of all this. I’m tired of it," Liz said. She'd taken more than 40 pain pills in a suicide attempt.

After Liz was taken to the hospital, Manuel was more motivated than ever to clean up. The house was given a total makeover. Liz survived and is now in therapy while the family fights to get the children back.
