Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has a message for Snooki: "I miss you."
The Arizona senator discussed the reality TV star in an interview with MTV earlier this week.
"I hope you're happy," McCain said in addressing Snooki. "I hope everything's fine with your baby and I wish you'd get rid of some of those jerks you're hanging around with."
He added, "But that just comes from an old geezer that doesn't understand a lot of that lifestyle."
It's not the first time the pair has captured headlines together.
In 2010, Snooki expressed frustration that President Barack "Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning" in signing health care reform legislation into law. She said at the time, "McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning, because he's pale and he would probably want to be tan."
In response to the "Jersey Shore" star, McCain wrote on Twitter, "u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama's tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!"
Not long after, Snooki told the 2008 Republican presidential nominee's daughter, Meghan McCain, that she voted for her father in his campaign for the White House "because he was really cute and [she] liked when he did his speeches."
Fast-forward to 2012, it seems some things haven't changed. McCain told MTV that he still believes "we should never, never tax tanning beds." He added, "That was one of the worst things about Obamacare that could possibly have happened."
