Fans of Vicente Fernandez got some scary news this week after it was revealed that a “small lump” had been found on his liver. The Mexican music icon is currently undergoing tests to diagnose the situation and canceled two November shows while awaiting the results.

Thankfully Vicente is in very good spirits and he assured the press that the issue is not life-threatening.

“I’m with my family and we hope that next week’s results are very good,” Fernandez said in a statement. “Thanks to all the people who have prayed for me. Their support gives me strength to keep going.”

Ironically the tour he’s currently on is set to be his last. At 72, the “King of Ranchera” had been winding down his live appearances (though he’s still very active in the studio).

Our hearts definitely go out to the Vicente and his family. Let’s hope he gets well soon!
