North Carolina Polls 2012: Closing Time, Opening Time, Where To Vote

North Carolina, if you haven't voted yet, it's your time to head to the polls.

Here's what you need to know to vote in North Carolina on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

Closing time for North Carolina polls is 7:30 p.m. local time, while opening time is set for 6:30 a.m. local time.

Many have already voted in the state. According to its chief election official, early voting turnout has been higher than 2008. Long lines and high tensions have already been cited, so keep an eye out for that on Election Day as well.

Not sure where to vote? The North Carolina State Board of Elections has a polling place finder.

There are 15 electoral votes at stake in North Carolina for the presidential race. Barack Obama won the state in 2008, but the seven elections before that - every year since 1980 - went for the Republican candidate. See our election map here.
