Utah has six electoral votes. In 2008, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) won the Beehive State, taking 62.3 percent of the vote.

Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and 2012 Republican presidential candidate, led President Barack Obama in the Utah polls going into Tuesday's election. Most prediction models, including HuffPost Pollster's estimate, predicted that Romney would win in Utah.

In the closely-watched 4th Congressional District race, Mia Love, a rising star in the Republican party, went into Election Day slightly ahead of incumbent Jim Matheson, according to several polls.
