'The X Factor' Top 13 Elimination: Which Contestant Was The First Sent Home? (VIDEO)

'The X Factor' Elimination: Who Went Home?

Demi Lovato believed in CeCe Frey throughout "The X Factor," putting her onto the live shows. But she also knew that Frey struggled with likeability -- thanks in large part to a lengthy edit of her criticizing other contestants during her initial audition episode. But likeability wasn't the only thing that failed her during her performance in this week's show.

Frey found herself in the Bottom Two, alongside L.A. Reid's Jason Brock, in the first public vote. When it came time for the judges to pick which act they were going to send home, Reid and Lovato backed their own acts, while Britney Spears got an unexpected roar of approval from the crowd when she said she wanted to send Frey home. Or maybe it wasn't so unexpected.

Nevertheless, Cowell chose to eliminate Brock, pushing it to the tiebreaker -- which was the initial public vote. In this, Frey squeaked out more votes than Brock, sending "Mr. Entertainment" packing as the first contestant eliminated. Frey was very emotional, but she's probably going to have to do a lot more than that to win support from a crowd that cheered the thought of her leaving the competition.

In an unexpected move, the episode actually revealed how all 13 contestants ranked in the public vote, with country crooner Tate Stevens coming in first, followed closely by Carly Rose Sonenclar and Vino Alan. Diamond White -- who was brought back this week -- came in fourth, with Fifth Harmony -- formerly LYLAS and then 1432 -- rounding out the Top 5.

"The X Factor" continues on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
