A painter was injured when he fell into a water tank in Lauderdale Lakes Friday morning.
The man, identified by Local 10 as Shabam El Siaby of Baltimore, was painting a water tank at the waste treatment facility on North State Road 7 when he fell into the cylinder around 8 a.m.
Fire rescue teams created a makeshift crane using ropes to lift El Siaby on from the bottom of the tank to safety (watch video of the dramatic rescue above.)
As authorities rescued the alert gentleman, an air rescue stood by in case of serious injuries, according to NBC 6.
El Siaby was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. His employer, Champion Painting, said he sustained a foot injury.
