Chicago Chocolate Week 2012: Sweet Celebration Caps Off With Chocolate Show At Navy Pier

PHOTOS: Chocolate Week Has Begun, Chicago!

Are you ready to indulge in a selection of sweet somethings, Chicago?

On Sunday, the inaugural Chicago Chocolate Week, a weeklong celebration of the sweet treat, kicked off in the lead up to the first-ever Chicago Fine Chocolate Show, which will be held Nov. 16-18 at Navy Pier.

In honor of the occasion, some of the city's most acclaimed restaurants and bakeries will be serving up special signature Chocolate Week dishes through Nov. 18. Part of the proceeds from their sales will benefit Share Our Strength, a non-profit organization working to end childhood hunger.

The Chicago Fine Chocolate Show will include samplings of fine chocolates, chocolate-centric education sessions, chocolate demonstrations and, yes, a chocolate art gallery. Tickets to the event are still available for $25, or $10 for children. A companion trade show -- the National Chocolate Show -- will also be held the same weekend in the same venue.
