Emergency Manager Question Taken To Michigan Supreme Court

Robert Davis Files Another Lawsuit Against The Emergency Manager Law

DETROIT, MI -- After the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled last week that the state's emergency financial manager law Public Act 72 stands, the activist that filed the lawsuit seeking to overthrow the state takeover of Detroit Public Schools is trying again.

Robert Davis today asked the state Supreme Court to overturn Friday's ruling that Detroit schools Emergency Manager Roy Roberts stays.

Davis – a Highland Park school board member known as a government gadfly who files many lawsuits, often successfully – filed the original complaint based on the idea that Public Act 72 no longer exists, having been repealed when Public Act 4 was passed.
