AMBER ALERT: 11-Year-Old Allegedly Abducted By Mom

Police believe that an 11-year-old girl's mother fought off Texas Child Protective Service workers and abducted her own daughter.

An Amber Alert was issued Monday afternoon for Savannah Hurley, last spotted in The Woodlands, after her mother and suspect, 46-year-old Shelly Jean Hurley, refused to release her to state custody.

Police believe the mom and daughter are driving to Florida in a 1996 Subaru Legacy station wagon with Alabama license plate 48738AZ. Investigators told KSLA that the two individuals are now in a different vehicle than the white Ford F-150 that was reported earlier.

Shelly Hurley, a known drug user, is accused of having a violent confrontation with a CPS worker who tried to take her daughter into custody. Hurley allegedly threatened to run over the worker and left with the girl.

Savannah Hurley is described as a white female, about 4 feet 10 inches tall, 120 pounds and with brown hair and hazel eyes. She also has pierced ears and a small gap between her teeth.

Shelly Hurley is described as a white female, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds and with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a multicolor shirt, blue jeans and a brown belt.
