WASHINGTON -- Do your Thanksgiving traditions include decorating a Christmas tree? You may want to stop by the White House Visitor Center or the historic Decatur House before heading home for the holidays. The White House Historical Association, which has produced an original White House-themed ornament every year since 1981, is celebrating 2012 with a tribute to the automobile.

This year's ornament honors President William Howard Taft and the automobile. Taft brought the horseless carriage to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW in 1909. The 2012 ornament features Taft, first lady Helen Taft and their chauffeur, George H. Robinson, in the White Motor Company's Model M.

The ornament, priced at $17.95, can be purchased in bulk at a discounted rate, 25 to 99 for $16.25 each or 100 and more for $14.50 each.

The White House Historical Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1961 with the help of then-first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. The site has an extensive database that features thirty two years worth of Christmas ornaments. They are all for sale.
