Kim had a relationship online and on the phone for a decade with Matt, but they'd never met. That is, until "Catfish: The TV Show" came along. The show helped Kim make a visit to surprise Matt.
The couple had talked about being together, but had never really done anything official. Matt loved her, and had talked to her even while she was dating other people. But they'd never Skyped or seen one another, and Kim had never even seen a recent picture of him.
When they finally met, Matt admitted what he'd been afraid of all that time.
"As you can tell, pretty big guy, and that’s a big reason why I’ve been nervous to meet with you," he said. "I’ve been wanting to meet you for a very long time, and it’s held me back."
Matt was afraid that his size would push her away. But while the two did ultimately decide not to be together romantically, they remain best friends and have continued talking every day.
