Have A Wet Cell Phone? Here's What To Do

If you're like most people, chances are, your phone goes everywhere with you. In recent years, more and more people admit to feeling uneasy when their cell phones aren't present, and it's led us to tote our mobile devices into some unusual places. One notable place -- the bathroom.

Surveys show that three in four Americans bring their cell phones along for a potty break in order to text, play games or surf the web. While 63 percent of people say they've answered the phone while using the john, 41 percent say they've used their time on the toilet to specifically make a call.

While this might seem a little strange, it isn't inherently problematic—until of course a beloved cell phone accidentally lands in the toilet. A study by Plaxo says 19 percent of people surveyed (nearly one out of every five) have, at some point, dropped their cell phone into the toilet. While the issue of actually retrieving your dropped phone seems daunting, much more problematic can be repairing your now toilet-water soaked phone. If you're a toilet-texter, don't be afraid to bring your trusty phone into the stall with you—if you DO drop your phone, this handy video from the latest Minute Hacks video and rest assured that you'll be able to protect your phone from water damage, toilet-induced or otherwise.
