Three tiger cubs who were abandoned in a Russian zoo have found an unusual new mother.
When Bagira the tigress left her cubs just after their birth on November 14, staff at Oktyabrsky zoo in Sochi weren't surprised, according to the Telegraph. She'd done the same thing five months prior with a different set of cubs.
Zoo authorities soon began seeking a stand-in tiger mom, but a white Swiss Shepherd dog from the Krasnodar region was chosen instead, Sky News reported. Tallim, the dog, has since adopted Olymp and Dar -- two male tiger cubs -- and one female named Talli.
At first, the trio flashed their claws and hissed at the dog, the Telegraph reported. But the patient mother eventually won them over.
Recent reports indicate Tallim is successfully feeding the cubs. Watch the foursome in the video above.
