Neil Patrick Harris' 'Puppet Dreams': Actor Debuts New Web Series

Go Inside Neil Patrick Harris' 'Puppet Dreams'

File this one under "things you never knew you wanted." Nerdist has premiered a web series of Neil Patrick Harris interacting with puppets. Titled "Neil's Puppet Dreams," the video premiered Tuesday.

The first episode shows Harris and his adorable husband, David Burtka, from the viewpoint of a crib -- in 2010, the couple became parents to twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, via surrogate. Harris puts stuffed animal puppets in the crib to appease the crying baby before transitioning into his own dream sequence filled with puppets.

"Hi, I'm Neil and I sleep a lot," Harris tells the camera. "When I dream, I dream in puppet."

The four-minute video (shown above), features a pajama-clad Harris being sung a lullaby by the three puppets. Vulture reports that the puppets are from Jim Henson Studios.

"Jim Henson was the only piece of fan mail I ever wrote when I was a little kid," Harris said in an interview with EW. "I’m a nerdy, geeky fan of 'Labyrinth' and 'Dark Crystal.' I collect puppet stuff. I have a puppet workshop in my garage. I was looking for any opportunity to be able to get very creatively involved in that world."

The series is produced and co-created by Janet Varney and will be aired on Nerdist's YouTube channel.
