Colbert Fears The Fiscal Cliff, Shames Republicans For Abandoning Grover Norquist Pledge (VIDEO)

WATCH: Colbert Fears The Fiscal Cliff

Since Stephen Colbert is such a big fan of scary political rhetoric, it's no surprise that he finds the phrase "fiscal cliff" so entertaining.

But he's also concerned about our impending doom, what with the Bush tax cuts expiring and President Obama wanting to raise taxes just because he "ran on that promise" and "won the election." And now, Republicans are abandoning the "no new taxes" pledge championed by Grover Norquist faster than they did what's-his-name who ran for President this year. Yeesh.

On Tuesday night's "Report," Colbert reminded those Republicans who are thinking of jumping ship that the pledge they took is eternal, "like a pact with a devil, or a gym membership."

Watch the segment above and also be sure to check out his duet with Dolly Parton from the same episode.
