Grammy 2013 Nominations: Honorees Announced Include Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson And fun.

The Grammy 2013 nominations have been announced and Frank Ocean, Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 are among those who made the list.

Names that were missing early in the broadcast included One Direction, Carly Rae Jepsen and Gotye in the Best New Artist category. Frank Ocean picked up multiple nods, a less surprising occurrence given the strength of his debut studio album, "channel ORANGE."

Kelly Clarkson and fun. were among the early standouts. Clarkson jumped out in front, earning nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Record of the Year in the early portion of the nominations broadcast.

Taking place on Feb. 10, 2013, the 55th Grammy Award show will air exclusively on CBS. The awards will be held at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

The nominations were announced at Wednesday night's Grammy Nominations Concert Live!, co-hosted by Taylor Swift and LL Cool J. The first nominations concert took place in 2008 and has been hosted by LL every year since its inception.

The first Grammy awards ceremony was held in 1959, when The Milwaukee Journal explained the honor as "the record industry's answer to Oscar and Emmy." Photos of nominees and our live blog of the nominations concert is available below.

"MCA Forever!"

This amalgam of rockers and hip-hop stars perform "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" to honor the late MCA. CBS, however, cuts them off with an rundown of the night's sponsors. Classy.
