The nominations for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday and the Best Supporting Actor category includes some big names.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor are Tommy Lee Jones for his role in "Lincoln," Christoph Waltz for "Django Unchained," Alan Arkin for "Argo," Leonardo DiCaprio for "Django Unchained," and Philip Seymour Hoffman for "The Master."

At last year's 69th annual Golden Globe Awards, Christopher Plummer nabbed the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in "Beginners." Plummer beat out Kenneth Branagh for "My Week With Marilyn," Albert Brooks for "Drive," Jonah Hill on "Moneyball," and Viggo Mortensen for "A Dangerous Method."

The first Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe was awarded to Akim Tamiroff for his 1943 performance in "For Whom the Bell Tolls."

The 70th annual Golden Globes will take place on Jan. 13, 2013. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the awards at the Beverly Hills' Beverly Hilton Hotel.
