Lurie Mansion: Winnetka Estate Modeled After Beverly Hills Hotel Listed At $9.75 Million (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Lurie Mansion Is $9.75 Million Worth Of Old-World Glam

Beverly Hills may be miles from Chicago's North Shore, but one recently-listed Winnetka mansion has all the trappings of a luxe getaway from the Golden Coast.

The 14,600-square-foot mansion was originally built in 1991, according to Realtor.com, for Chicago philanthropists Ann and Robert Lurie.

The Lurie name is familiar to many in Chicagoland, as the pair have their stamp on several high-profile spaces that include the Lurie Garden in Millennium Park and the newly-minted Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (formerly Children's Memorial) in Streeterville.

Chicago Real Estate Daily said the "European villa" style compound was modeled after the Beverly Hills Hotel, and features a breathtaking swimming pool, lakefront property, beach front property and an outdoor tennis court.

Indoors, the amenities are just as glamorous: vaulted cathedral ceilings, elevators to each floor and indoor whirlpools. Add to that a health-club quality home fitness center, a photorealistic mural and old-world style wine cellar and it's understandable why the home has a $9.75 million asking price.
