Ron Haislet, Chicago Police Officer, Builds Incredible Miniature Christmas Village (VIDEO)

WATCH: Veteran Police Officer Shows Off Mini Holiday Village

A 20-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, officer Ron Haislet has surely seen some horrific scenes but, per a WGN report, every holiday season he also finds time to create his own, one-of-a-kind breathtaking holiday scene.

WGN's Marcus Leshock interviewed Haislet as part of a Thursday feature on the Chicago news station as the officer showed off the nine-foot-long miniature Christmas village he's been slowly expanding and perfecting over the past 10 years. This year's new addition to the "snow"-covered amusement park rides, trees and homes? A "misty mountain."

Haislet's devotion to his holiday village -- which takes five days to set up -- reminds us of the handiwork of another Chicago-area hobbyist whose miniature CTA train system model caught our eye earlier this year. Turns out tiny things can have a big impact.
