Van Dyke Place In Detroit's West Village To Be Restored, New Owner Says

Stripped West Village Mansion Gets A New Owner

Van Dyke Place, a historic house in West Village at the center of an architectural stripping controversy this summer, has been sold and will be restored, its new owner said Friday.

Michael Higgins, one of the developers of the Broderick Towers in downtown Detroit, purchased the property in October from Michael Mallett, an Ohio man who West Village residents said was stripping the turn-of-the century house of its architectural details.
