LANSING -- Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder reported a gross income of about $1.9 million in 2011, when he says he gave back all but $1 of his state salary.

Snyder, an Ann Arbor-based venture capitalist before he was elected governor in 2010, had capital gains income of just more than $1.3 million in 2011, according to a federal income tax return his office released to the Free Press on Wednesday. Most of the itemized schedules on Snyder's return were not released.
