TLC was one of the biggest female groups on the planet, until they lost one of their own when Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in a car accident. The two remaining members have stayed close, and with the 20th anniversary of the group looming, it was time to think about what to do to honor their legacy and keep the music alive. "Totally T-Boz," which premiered New Year's Day, takes fans into that story, largely from the perspective of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.
While Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas was keen to go all-out for the anniversary, talking about a new tour and a new album, T-Boz wasn't so sure. She'd already gone public with the fact that she has sickle cell anemia, and battled a brain tumor for three years. She was concerned about putting that much strain on her body. She also indicated she wanted to focus on other career opportunities out there.
None of this sat well with Chilli, though, leading to an awkward confrontation. T-Boz told CNN she wanted it to be a real representation of the struggles in her life right now, so she's fine with the show spotlighting those uncomfortable moments between friends.
Watch the drama unfold on "Totally T-Boz" every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
