NBC has announced that Adam Levine, lead singer of Maroon 5 and a judge on NBC's hit reality singing competition "The Voice," will host "Saturday Night Live" on its Jan. 26 episode.
Although he's primarily known as a musician, Levine will not be pulling double duty. Supporting him as musical guest will be rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Levine has never hosted "SNL" before, but he's no stranger to Studio 8H. Just in November, Maroon 5 acted as the show's musical guest when Jeremy Renner hosted, and Levine made a cameo during a "Voice" parody. The chart-topping pop band had been the guest three times before.
Levine also contributed vocals to the 2007 "SNL" Digital Short "Iran So Far," featuring Fred Armisen as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
NBC had previously announced that "Silver Linings Playbook" star Jennifer Lawrence will host the first episode of 2013 on Jan. 19 with musical guest The Lumineers.
