Ohio State Ski Trip Ends In 4 Arrests, Dozens Of Citations

It's not the best idea to combine LSD and skiing.

An Ohio State ski trip ended in four arrests and several citations on Dec. 14, after the bus driver transporting over 200 students to Aspen smelled pot and called the police. The authorities searched the bus with K-9 units and found marijuana, LSD, psychedelic mushrooms and about $12,000 in cash.

"Several of the young people had drugs. A lot of them were drinking alcohol," Sheriff Butch Baker of Henry County, Ind. told

Between 40 and 50 students were cited for drinking, and 15 were cited for marijuana possession. Peter Banks, 22, Liam McMahon, 20, Andrew Jefferies, 20, and George Burke, 18, were arrested on felony possession charges.

The student-run and operated Ohio State University Ski and Snowboard Club sponsored the trip, according to OSU's student paper, the Lantern. No university dollars funded the trip. The ski team's website, says the trip cost $645 per student, which includes transportation.
