Between Nicole Westbrook’s “It’s Thanksgiving,” Double Take’s “Hot Problems,” and Gnesa’s “Wilder,” 2012 gave us no shortage of awesomely terrible Auto-Tune extravaganzas.

It’s rare that these YouTube novelties ever transcend the punchline status, but PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and Rebecca Black’s “Friday” have both demonstrated that viral exposure can turn a song into a legitimate mainstream hit — whether you like it or not.

Now, it appears that a track called “One Pound Fish” by Muhammad Shahid Nazir, a Pakistani fishmonger living in Britain, is vying to become the latest international phenomenon.
