Al Roker reacted to the frenzy surrounding his recent admission that he, in his words, "pooped my pants" at the White House after his gastric bypass surgery.
Roker's revelation flew across the Internet on Monday after TMZ spotted it. On Tuesday's "Today," he said he was "amazed that this is such a big deal."
Roker, who discussed the incident in a new book, said he "wanted people to realize that there are consequences to gastric bypass surgery ... some of them embarrassing, others can be life threatening or fatal."
Roker also took shots at the Web.
"One website picks it up, and then everybody does," he said. "Look, the fact of the matter is the book had been out for over a week, but of course nobody reads at these websites."
