Nominations For Best Documentary Announced

Oscar season officially kicked off Thursday morning with the announcement of the 85th annual Academy Award nominations.

The films competing for the Academy Award for Best Documentary are "Searching for Sugar Man," "The Gatekeepers," "5 Broken Cameras," "How to Survive a Plague," and "The Invisible War."

Last year, the high school football film "Undefeated" won the award for Best Documentary. It beat out "Hell and Back Again," "If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front," "Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory," and "Pina."

The nominees for the 85th annual Academy Awards were announced by Emma Stone and Seth MacFarlane. MacFarlane will also be hosting the 2013 Oscars. The show will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Feb. 24
