Georgia Gay Couples Turned Away For Marriage Licenses As Part Of 'We Do' Campaign

WATCH: Gay Couples Turned Away For Marriage Licenses In Georgia

As part of the ongoing "We Do" campaign sponsored by the Campaign for Southern Equality, five same-sex couples applied for marriage licenses in Georgia on Jan. 7, knowing they would be rejected.

The campaign -- which aims to bring Southern states into the national conversation about marriage equality -- kicked off earlier this month in Hattiesburg, Miss., where five couples were also denied marriage licenses.

He also noted, "If Rosa Parks had just kept sitting on the back of the bus..."
