'Arrested Development' Movie Would Reunite Entire Cast For The First Time, But May Not Happen

"Arrested Development" fans have been looking forward to a movie after the long-overdue fourth season of the comedy airs on Netflix, but things might not happen exactly as they imagined.

We've known for a while that each episode of "Arrested Development" will focus on a different member of the Bluth family -- and now, we know why. "Contractually, we couldn't use all the characters in every episode," "Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz told USA Today. "They were not free to do as much television as they want."

Netflix upped the Season 4 episode order from 10 to 13 or 14 and only Jason Bateman (Michael Bluth) will appear in all of the installments, according to USA Today.

"The bigger story is the family has fallen apart at the start of our show," Hurwitz told USA Today. "They all went their own way, without Michael holding them together, so they're left to their own devices." He considers Season 4 to be a Act 1 of an "Arrested Development" movie.

"You don't see them all together until you see the movie," he added, but also admitted there's no guarantee there will be one.

"Arrested Development" will premiere on Netflix in the Spring of 2013.
