For the second year in a row, Coastal Living magazine has published its finalists for the 10 happiest seaside towns.

Unlike 2012's list (in which Kiawah Island, SC was crowned the winner), voting is open to the public beginning Thursday and continuing through January 28 (click here to vote.)

The finalists were chosen based on a number of criteria, including their ranking on the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, the number of sunny days, healthiness of its beaches, and commute times and walkability, among others. Any town that was on the 2012 list was not eligible for the 2013 list.

Unlike last yea r-- in which four of the finalists were in California -- this year's list is more diverse, and includes some lovely East Coast towns as well as some West Coast favorites. Any of your faves miss the cut? Add them to the slideshow to do them justice!

The issue with the crowned winner will hit newsstands May 17. Herewith, in no particular order, are the ten finalists.
