John Walsh: Scott Brown 'A Faker'

Dem Chairman Rips Scott Brown: He's 'A Faker'

Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh's opinion of former GOP Sen. Scott Brown does not appear to be too high.

With Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) approaching the confirmation process to become President Barack Obama's next Secretary Of State, Walsh was asked recently about Bay State Democrats' chances of holding onto that seat. The Hill reports that at this juncture, the chairman is not concerned about a Brown return bid.

"I've met and observed Scott Brown for a few years," said Walsh, according to the Hill. "Charismatic is not the word I would use. I think Scott Brown is a faker."

After emerging as a darkhorse victor in 2010's special election to fill the seat of deceased Sen. Edward Kennedy (D), Brown lost his 2012 reelection bid to Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Brown has yet to make any formal announcement about the Kerry seat, and according to a Saturday Associated Press report, GOP allies say he is in no rush to do so.

Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) stands as the lead Democrat who has announced a bid for Kerry's seat. Elected to his 19th term as a Congressman in November, Markey said in December that he was running because "this fight is too important. There is so much at stake."
