GayCities Awards 2012: Gay Travel Site Names The Year's Best Cities

San Francisco Wins Gay Pride Award!

Breathe a sigh of relief San Franciscans. After being snubbed by the Advocate's "Gayest Cities in America" awards, our city is reclaiming its title.

Travel site GayCities released its list of the best gay hotspots of 2012, and San Francisco nabbed the top spot in both the "most scenic" and "most pride" categories. It earned runner-up status in several others.

"It's kind of considered a gay mecca," GayCities Co-founder and editorial director Chris Bull told The Huffington Post. "Everything from the Harvey Milk Memorial to the Castro theater. Even for a kid growing up in Santiago, those things have widespread appeal."
