'American Horror Story' Aliens: Ryan Murphy Promises No Season 3 Appearance

Ryan Murphy Defends 'AHS' Aliens

The "American Horror Story" plot involving aliens and their subsequent abductions never quite resonated with fans and series co-creator Ryan Murphy knows that all too well.

"I think I'm done with aliens," Murphy told reporters at a screening of the finale. "I thought the alien stuff was interesting because I thought it was so metaphoric because it was so take-it-or-leave-it. The thing that I thought people would not like was the Lily Rabe possessed by Satan, which was by far a great fan favorite of this year. But there will be no aliens [in Season 3]."

While there won't be aliens in Season 3, the new "Horror" strip will include romance, a lighter story and Jessica Lange going glam.

"I really miss that Jessica Lange as Constance stuff and I know she missed it too," Murphy told reporters at the finale screening. "So the only thing I'll say about [Season 3] is it is a mixture of several cities, and it's really about female power and I got Jessica to do it because I did everything she asked, which was the location [and] I told her that she will have complete hair and makeup and the best designer gowns. She said 'please don't put me in a wimple again,' so she's going to play a really glamour-cat sort of lady in Season 3. I'm just now meeting up with a lot of actors so I don't want to say too much, actors that Jessica wants to work with. So she's become the uncredited producer of Season 3."
